From our base at Craobh Haven it is possible to access a huge area of superb cruising depending upon time and weather. To the south lies the Crinan basin where the canal gives access to the Firth of Clyde and its associated lochs. Beyond Crinan lie the isles of Jura, Islay and Ghiga.
Heading westward takes you past Scarba and the Garvellachs towards the south coast of Mull with the Abbey at Iona and Fingals Cave.
Northward, takes you to the busy port of Oban before heading up the Sound of Mull to the historic town of Tobermory. Beyond here lie the twin isles of Coll and Tiree, with Ardnamurchan, the most westerly point on mainland Britain giving access to the isles of Rhum, Eigg, Muck, Canna and Skye to name but a few. Beyond this, but by no means out of reach are the Outer Hebrides.
The Firth of Clyde, which is served by our base at Largs Marina, offers relatively sheltered sailing in waters which give great opportunities for early or late season sailing and are not subject to great tidal effects. There are plenty of marinas, should they be the preferred option, but at the same time if you wish to explore the quieter areas there are numerous sheltered anchorages.
The Isle of Arran is only a short sail away, and further west the Mull of Kintyre has safe harbours at Campbeltown and Tarbet. To the north lie the Kyles of Bute, the Burnt Isles and the 25 miles of Loch Fyne leading to Inverary.
